Raw Egg over Rice
Steamed short-grain rice topped with a raw egg cracked at the table, seasoned with soy sauce and a touch of bonito flakes, then stirred so the yolk coats each grain. Finished with scallion and nori strips, this is Japan's fastest home breakfast, called tamago kake gohan.
