Instructions
1
Prep
Pat paneer batons dry with paper towel. Mix flour on a plate with smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mince garlic and add to flour.
2
Dredge
Roll each paneer baton in seasoned flour, dip in beaten egg, coat in panko breadcrumbs on a plate, pressing gently.
3
Chill
Set breaded batons on a plate in the fridge for 10 minutes until coating firms.
4
Fry
Heat vegetable oil in a small skillet over medium-high heat until a breadcrumb sizzles immediately. Fry batons 3 to 4 minutes, turning with tongs, until deep golden.
5
Drain
Lift fried sticks onto a paper towel-lined plate and rest 1 minute so excess oil drains.
6
Whisk
In a small bowl, whisk mayonnaise, smoked paprika and lemon juice until smooth and evenly pink-orange.
7
Plate
Arrange fried cheese sticks on a small plate with smoked paprika aioli in a side dish for dipping.
