Thinly slice the onion and crush the garlic. Split both French rolls lengthways, ready to fill and dip.

Soften the onion and garlic in oil over medium heat 4–5 minutes. Add the stock and Worcestershire and simmer 8–10 minutes until savoury.

Build
Warm the roast beef in the jus over low heat 2–3 minutes until hot. Divide and pile it into both rolls, letting the juices soak in.

Pour the remaining jus into two small cups. Serve both sandwiches hot with the jus alongside for dipping.
